ARS Responds to Critical National Drug Shortage

During Hurricanes Maria and Harvey, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device manufacturers in Puerto Rico sustained damage to their manufacturing plants. This damage has primarily impacted the production of 50mL and 100mL IV fluids resulting in a national shortage. ARS is working with its clients to provide solutions through alternative methods of delivering optimal antimicrobial therapy, such as utilizing IV push, continuous infusion, route optimization, and dosing protocols. Due to predictions that the shortage will not resolve quickly, ARS will be continually evolving its approach based on changes with the shortage and its impact.
